The small print,
in plain language.

Photograph a food, supplement or cosmetics label. Label Lens reads the ingredient list and explains it, one line at a time.

INGREDIENTS: Water, oat flour, sunflower oil, inulin, mixed tocopherols, sea salt, carrageenan, natural flavouring.

Mixed tocopherols

A form of vitamin E. On an ingredient list it is almost always doing a job: keeping the oils in the product from going rancid.

Carrageenan

An extract of red seaweed, used to thicken and to stop a drink or a sauce separating in the jar.

An example reading. Not a real product.

How a scan works

  1. Scan

Point the camera at the ingredient list and take one photograph. Food, supplements or cosmetics.

  2. Read

An AI vision model reads the panel and writes out what each ingredient is and what it is doing in the product. You can add a health profile, and the reading is written with it in mind.

  3. Decide

What you get back is an informational verdict, not a ruling. The packaging in your hand stays the authority, and so does a qualified professional.

A reading notebook

Your Cycle After 35

A short reading notebook from the Label Lens library, the same one the app gives on a first sign-in. It is informational writing about labels and ingredients, not medical advice.

What Label Lens is, plainly

It reads labels, not people

Label Lens analyses the ingredient list you photograph. It is not a medical device and it does not diagnose, treat or give medical advice.

The packaging is the authority

A vision model reading a photograph can misread it, miss an ingredient or get a product wrong. The physical label is always the thing to check, and a food allergy is never a question to put to an app.

Your account is yours to end
